As we launch into a new year, can you see a clear picture of some of things you would like to see happen in 2013? The clearer your vision, the more likely you are to reach those stars – whatever they are for you: fulfillment, balance, financial freedom, [fill in the blank].
When we are not consciously choosing our thoughts, they choose us. Whether daydreaming, planning, analyzing, obsessing, or worrying, our minds our always working…until, we becoming conscious and take the wheel. When we begin to direct our thoughts, we begin to direct out lives. Do not underestimate the power of of a clear, conscious vision.
As a competitive swimmer growing up, visualization was a normal practice, but somewhere along the lines, I let it go. I have dabbled here and there with visualization and meditation, and it wasn’t until my recent trip to the mountains that I reconnected with the true power of SEEING where you want to go.
I am not a very good snowboarder. Let’s say, I am good enough and I enjoy it. Thankfully, this Christmas holiday in Tahoe saw TONS of snowfall, and all the powder meant it was time for me to get out of my controlling comfort zone. Snowboarding in powder means letting go, trusting, and going pretty darn fast. At first, I was terrified…which led to many falls and a solid 10-minute fight out of chest-deep powder with my board off at one point.
Then, my mind somehow naturally kicked into to visualization mode. On the chair lift, I’d see myself moving gracefully through the snow. I’d see myself standing up. I’d see myself at peace. No joke, it was like magic. Every once in a while, I’d still see fear creep in and hijack my visualized plans, but all in all, what I saw was what I got.
So I got to thinking that this has to be true in our lives! If I could SEE what I wanted in the future, I’d likely be that much closer to getting there. And this begs the question: Do you know what you really want?
When we can, one, CONNECT with our true desires; two, SEE them; and three, SPEAK them, we have fertile ground for manifestation.
So, what do you want this year? Is your vision crystal clear?
Speak it now, in 5, 4, 3, 2….
Happy New Year!
